Bad Weather Protocol

• Keep on an eye on school websites for the most up to date information. Principals and school leaders will make decisions based on all weather notifications and information on the ground.
• We will make calls as soon as is feasible; the safety of children and staff is paramount. Decisions will be communicated via each school’s usual mechanisms for contacting parents; this includes school websites, messaging and the social media platforms used by individual schools.
• If there are events or performances planned in school calendars, any changes to these will be communicated as soon as is practically possible.
• Wrap-around provision such as breakfast clubs are for local decision-making based on staffing levels.
• School closures will be advised via the DCC Schools Closures site.
• If closure is necessary remote teaching will be organised.
